The book, a product of collaboration between Wageningen University (Netherlands), CIRAD (France) and the Centre for Applied Social Sciences (CASS) of the University of Zimbabwe, sets out to criticize the new and rapidly growing trend of Transfrontier conservation areas in Southern Africa by focusing on the ‘forgotten people displaced by, or living on the edge’ of Transfrontier conservation. About Us Transfrontier Parks Destinations (TFPD) is a consortium of like-minded associates who are business-oriented social entrepreneurs. We are well-qualified with in-depth experience in finance, marketing, safari activities and hospitality management. Working in Southern Africa's Transfrontier Peace Parks and adjacent areas, we are passionate about the development of a viable and.

The introduction of transfrontier conservation areas (TFCAs) in southern Africa was based on an enchanting promise: simultaneously contributing to global biodiversity conservation initiatives, regional peace and integration, and the sustainable socio-economic development of rural : Andersson. Former president Nelson Mandela has called on the people of the world to 'rid themselves' of the scourge of terrorism and use the newly-named Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park as an example of lasting global peace. The park is a cross-border game reserve between South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.

You may have to book a full year ahead to get space in wilderness camps such as Urikaruus and Grootkolk. 2. Camps are set very far apart and road conditions make travelling difficult. Because of this it makes sense to book camps in some sort of logical, circular order, rather than criss-crossing the reserve . This book provides a background to the ideologies and practices underpinning the content and form of transfrontier conservation areas (TFCAs) in Africa. The roles of the state and local populations in the emergence of transfrontier conservation are analysed, as well as the ecological, socioeconomic and political implications.

Africa’s political leaders, governments, conservation and tourism organizations, bilateral and multilateral aid agencies, the private sector, local communities and NGOs are increasingly embracing Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCAs) in recognition of their role in conserving biodiversity, socio-economic development and promoting a culture of peace and regional co-operation.

Motivated by the institutional work concept, the contribution of TFCAs and their institutional framework for peace and cooperation efforts was assessed. Using field experience and the archival method, journal articles, books and reports on natural resources and conflict.

INTRODUCTION Protected areas that adjoin across international boundaries, referred to in this paper as transfrontier protected areas, provide intriguing possibilities for promoting biodiversity conservation across politically-severed ecosystems and species' home ranges, as well as transfrontier collaborative management which may ultimately contribute to international peace.

Peace parks are a modern means of conflict resolution through nature conservation. The Great Limpopo Peace Park (GLPP), which spans South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique, was established to bring.
